BussiPro will once again have a prominent presence at the FinnMETKO 2026 exhibition. This time, Hakevuori Oy's a next-generation wood chipper, featuring a rotating cabin, will be on display. BussiPro has supplied and installed a Reacton fire suppression system for this state-of-the-art machine.
Traditionally, wood chippers are built on a truck chassis, and the cabin is only meant for driving. Chipping operations are handled from a small, separate crane cabin. In this new chipper, however, the driver’s seat swivels so the driver no longer has to leave the comfortable, soundproofed, and warm cabin; instead, the chipping operation is controlled directly from the driver's seat. In addition to comfort, this new solution speeds up the work and improves occupational safety.
A fire suppression system is mandatory equipment for these machines. The Reacton fire suppression system was chosen for this new machine because it already complies with the new fire suppression regulations coming into force in 2030. The new rules ban the use of old, fluorine-based fire suppression systems.
BussiPro has both designed and installed the system on the chipper, delivering it fully operational. The agreement also covers the maintenance and any future repairs of the equipment.
Hakevuori Oy is one of Finland’s largest wood chipping companies. Its operations cover an area stretching from Southern Finland to Southeastern Finland, where the company manages the entire chip logistics chain from the forest to the end user.
FinnMETKO 2026 will take place in Jämsä on September 3–5. Mark your calendars!
